Alguém pode me dizer por que a 5 está errada? Achava que ela estava correta pelo trecho do texto: Brown predicts astronomers will find it by 2018.

Em que ano os astrônomos reportaram essa evidência?
Pergunto isso porque quando o texto diz "find it by 2018", ele quer dizer "até 2018", não necessariamente em 2018.
Agora se o "January" do texto for janeiro de 2018, aí realmente teria que ser em 2018.

Mas independentemente disso, a resposta não seria 2?

Acho que a resposta é a número 2 também. O trecho do texto diz exatamente que os objetos estão sujeitos à gravidade do tal planeta (se existir), então, como a opção 2 diz "repele pequenos objetos" (é justamente o contrário). Só pode ser essa.

O problema é não termos a data da publicação do artigo, para saber a que ano "this year" se refere.

De qualquer forma, de fato, a alternativa 2 não é uma afirmação verdadeira sobre o planeta 9.
